Complementary activities

In order to obtain the title of Mathematics Degree from Jataí Regional School, the student must complete, during the course, at least 200 hours of complementary activities, which can be done at any time from the first registration, including during school vacations, as long as the procedures established here are respected.

According to the General Rules for Undergraduate Courses (RGCG) in its Article 5 § 7, complementary activities are defined as the set of academic activities, but not subjects, chosen and developed by the students during the period available for curricular completion. Complementary activities are defined as the participation, without employment ties, in researches, conferences, seminars, lectures, congresses, debates, and other scientific, artistic and cultural activities.

As it is destined to each Course Coordination to define criteria for the validation of the workload of the complementary activities, as well as, to compute and register the hours of those that are validated, the Mathematics Coordination of Regional Jataí defines that:

  • paid activities of any kind will not be accepted;

  • the activities will be computed according to the total hours on the certificate issued, until the maximum workload established in table 6 is reached;

  • the student must have at least 100 hours of mathematical activities/mathematical education in his/her curriculum;

  • at least 50 hours must be completed with activities in congresses, conferences, lectures, seminars, debates and other activities of the same order;

  • activities resulting from online and/or distance learning courses will only be counted after the analysis of the knowledge acquired by the student by an examining board formed by three teachers from the coordination, who will study the specificities of each case and decide whether or not to accept the certificate;

  • the omitted cases will be analyzed by the Mathematics Course Coordinator.
